New release from Kansas act GHOSTY, 'Grow Up Or Sleep In' is the fruits of six years of intense dedication of its lead vocalist and main songwriter, Andrew Connor.
It was recorded by MIKE MOGIS who has previously handled production duties for BRIGHT EYES and CURSIVE.
'Grow Up Or Sleep In' is excellent Mid Western indie pop/rock in the vein of other luminaries such as THE FLAMING LIPS and new American pop acts like THE SHINS and DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE and MIDLAKE. Full of the sort great songwriting hooks and harmonies that names like PAVEMENT'S Stephen Malkmus and WILCO'S Jeff Tweedy would be proud of - this really is one great album.
While the band were in Oklahoma recording, they were unwittingly spied upon by 'local guy' WAYNE COYNE who insisted that GHOSTY contribute to his next single recording and that he get to contribute to their album which, of course, the band were quick to accept!
