Out now is the highly anticipated debut album from WOLF AND CUB. The boys from Adelaidehave already got a load of people sitting up and paying attention to their great hybrid Rocksound which is equal parts BIRTHDAY PARTY, SONIC YOUTH and PIL.?How hot are they I hear you ask > Well THE ALBUM HAS ALREADY BEEN TRIPLE J's ALBUM OF THE WEEK, just last week as a matter of fact.
'VESSELS' was recorded in Adelaide and mixed in Glasgow with producer TONY DOOGAN,who has previously worked with MOGWAI, SUPER FURRY ANIMALS, BELLE & SEBASTIAN and MOUNTAIN GOATS.
The band have shared stages with TV ON THE RADIO, THE KILLERS, THE MUSIC, WOLFMOTHER, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, HOT HOT HEAT, FUTUREHEADS and DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979. They've also played blistering sets at the MEREDITH MUSIC FESTIVAL, HOMEBAKE and on this year's BIG DAY OUT & headlined their own national tours.
On the strength of their two EPs to date they have been signed by 4AD for overseas territories.
The band's early tracks have been remixed by PAUL EPWORTH (BLOC PARTY, THE FUTUREHEADS, MAXIMO PARK)
BBC radio's legendary STEVE LAMACQ bestowed Single of the Week status on the bandand JOHN KENNEDY at XFM in London has also been thrashing them. Late last year the band toured Japan and the UK.
