Et Les Boites A Musique

AMBIENT
COLLEEN's CÃCILE SCHOTT is no stranger to the use of music boxes in her recordings and live performance, the consciously limited palette yields extraordinary dividends; this is arguably the most intimate and wonderfully melodic release of her career to date.
'Et Les Boites a Musique' was composed entirely using music boxes (but for one track), the pieces use everything from miniature boxes hidden in 1940s birthday cards to large Victorian boxes.
GLOWING REVIEWS OF COLLEEN'S EARLIER ALBUMS:
www.themilkfactory.co.uk/ "Cecile Schott doesn't indulge in ambient gimmicks. Instead, she builds her little vignettes with great care to reveal challenging, yet captivating, ever-changing soundscapes. A masterpiece. 4.7/5"
CYCLIC DEFROST "The simplicity, the intimacy of her sounds, the gentle, almost tender pacing and childlike naivety of her approach really are unique."
www.bbc.co.uk "Like Boards Of Canada, Parisienne Cecile Schott makes music for the darker moments of childhood. She largely eschews electronics, however, preferring to craft her melancholy moods from glockenspiel, guitar and rustic sounds. This album's slow but graceful progression is reminiscent of arthouse cinema in the beauty of its composition."
