'Be Still' is TRIOSK keyboardist ADRIAN KLUMPES' debut solo album
A masterpiece of delicate understatement, the album was recorded in one 5-hour session, using sounds created on just one instrument: a grand piano. The sounds were then subtly manipulated and processed, resulting in a roller coaster of emotion rare in instrumental music.
Klumpes' work with Triosk has been justly celebrated this year, following the releases of the acclaimed 'The Headlight Serenade', and a national tour.
DROWNED IN SOUND 8/10 "Although only one instrument, albeit a flexible one, is used to create Be Still, it's an album of amazing depth and possesses a lot of longevity. If escapism at its glorious best is your thing, make Be Still top of your list of purchases.."...STRAIGHT NO CHASER "Reach for the box marked 'superlatives' - this one's something special. Klumpes makes light and shade from extraordinarily slight variations, spooling something out that's not quite arpeggio, not quite drone, not quite melody, but capable of variously stopping or starting your heart."... MUSIC-NEWS.UK 4/5 "This is no chill out music, indeed. Haunted, desolate and distracted, Be Still is an affecting, meditative work that, as Klumpes intended, highlights the relationship between introspection and awareness.."...THE WIRE "...recalls Robert Fripp and Brian Eno's collaborations... nurtures an enjoyable sense of flotation."
