JAN JELINEK's new album 'Tierbeobachtungen' (English translation: "Animal Observations'') was recorded almost in transit, while preparing his move to a new studio. The tracks reveal and relish in their improvisational character, adrift and lost in sound, yet never lose sight of their underlying structure.
'Tierbeobachtungen' is full of simple arrangements with tracks based on four to five layered and modulated loops, while his own studio equipment provides the main sampling sources, from synthesizer and guitaret to vibraphone.
This is the follow up to Jan Jelinek´s highly acclaimed and successful album 'Kosmischer Pitch'. After the release of 'Kosmischer Pitch' Jan went on a successful tour through Europe, Japan and North America and played solo as well as with his band (ANDREW PEKLER- guitar, HANNO LEICHTMANN-drums - aka STATIC, WHITEWHOLE).
Jan Jelinek has previously collaborated with Sydney's TRIOSK on their debut album "1+3+1" (SC20CD), and toured nationally with them presented by TRIPLE J!!

Jelinek undulates to the break of dawn. To quote Homer Simpson, "Repeat. Always repeat."... FIRST COAST NEWS "...Jan Jelinek has created a masterful work of hauntingly beautiful sounds that are simple but woven together so intricately that time and space become irrelevant..."... PITCHFORK MEDIA 8/10 "Again Jelinek has assembled an album designed to work as a whole, with a consistent palette and tracks that bleed one into the next"
