Wound Of A Little Horse
In-fidelity
INDIE
Plenty of attitude, menacing, unpredictable yet strangely, you can't look away. This is the demeanor of WITCH HATS.
The youthful four-piece has been lurking the many dens around Melbourne and Sydney for quite some time now, and if you've happened to catch them you'd be familiar with their discordant yet somewhat pop orchestrations and unscrupulous live approach. If you haven't, it's high time you should.
If you're a fan of great Melbourne acts like the BIRTHDAY PARTY and their haunted car crash of a sound or the charged rant and grind of 'Talking To A Stranger' era HUNTERS AND COLLECTORS then WITCH HATS are your thing. Not unlike acts such as WOLF&CUB, these guys effortlessly summon the spirits of that great era and do it in such a way and drag it kinging and screaming into a new decade!
It's a polished up recording of the bands first self-released demo. The five tracks have been re-recorded, (and not co-incidentally) by ex-BIRTHDAY PARTY skinsman, PHILL CALVERT and BEN LING. The artwork pays irreverent homage to the banned BEATLES 'Butcher' cover, and was photographed in an abandoned orphanage in St Kilda.
