Hailing from Napier, New Zealand, JAKOB's third album follows the successful 'Cale:Drew' and debut 'Subsets of Sets', and continues to infiltrate eardrums the world over with their expansive organic instrumentals.
'Solace' ebbs and flows in a fluid motion as it takes hold of the listener, initially enticing you inside their ocean-sized compositions before dragging your ears through cascading Great Wall -sized slabs of sound. 'Solace' stays true to the band's roots, and moves forward from their previous work, further showcasing the telepathic interplay of three musicians whose years of playing together are immediately obvious.
'Solace' was produced by New Zealand producer DAVID HOLMES and also features TRISTAN DINGEMANS from HDU on "Everything All Of The Time".
Jakob have toured with COG throughout Australia in 2005 and have played festivals such as the BIG DAY OUT in New Zealand, FORMA NOVE in Denmark and SXSW in the USA. The band have just done a whirlwind 3 date tour in Sydney and Melbourne and have just been confirmed once again for the New Zealand BDO!!
Jakob have played shows throughout USA and Europe with the likes of MONO, THE HIDDEN HAND [featured on DAVE GROHL's PROBOT project], PELICAN, and in New Zealand with SALMONELLA DUB, PITCH BLACK, CASSETTE and DAMO SUZUKI from CAN.
