Renowned electronic duo FUNKSTORUNG (MICHAEL FAKESCH and CHRIS DE LUCAS), have announced their disbandment!

After 12 years of making music, they're calling it a day and going their solo ways. 'Appendix' is their 3rd remix album and marks the final release for the and features rare remixes (from 1998 to 2005), of BJORK, BARRY ADAMSON and LAMB.

For many initially, the Rosenheim natives were thought of as "the German Autechre." BJÖRK, the WU-TANG CLAN and all the advanced electronic acts knew better: Funkstörung are unique. Björk had namely asked Funkstörung to remix one of her tracks. That was the sublime "All Is Full Of Love" with "funky but distorted" beats. Björk loved it and immediately asked for a 2nd one.

A whole series of further remixes for the most prominent and innovative electronic acts ensued: including the WU-TANG CLAN and JEAN-MICHEL JARRE. In addition to their own groundbreaking productions, remixes became Funkstörung's second pillar - and in principle sounded like their own tracks: Michael Fakesch and Chris de Lucas' signature is unmistakable. A development of their own style of broken beats, melodious sound and futurist hi-tech hip hop.

Now it's time to take stock and look back on one of the most interesting careers in electronic music. For 'Appendix' their third and final remix compilation. They've gone through old archives, looking for rare remixes that were in part only released as B-sides. They reconstructed tracks, searched for missing master tapes and went through computer files. Delivering us remixes of artists including TOWA TEI, BARRY ADAMSON, NILS PETTER MOLVAER, THE RAVEONETTES, SPACEK, BEANFIELD, RICHARD DIVINE and already mentioned, BJÖRK.

Packaging will be in a "Super Jewel box": (one w' rounded corners) including a 30 page booklet designed by PURPLE HAZE. CD is stickered, with the following text & quote.

A selection of outstanding Funkstörung remixes from 1998 to 2005, including reworks for Björk, Lamb, Towa Tei and others.

DJ MAGAZINE "when the originals get the Funkstörung treatment you can be sure they´ll have their own unique sound. It´s a masterpiece that only few remixers are capable of"
