The long awaited vinyl pressing of 'Lookaftering', a full 35 years on from her only previous album, '60s songstress & cult legend VASHTI BUNYAN returns with a breathtaking new album.
The past few years has seen a massive resurgence in interest in Vashti's work, with everyone from ANIMAL COLLECTIVE to KIEREN 'FOUR TET' HEBDEN lauding her.
Includes contributions from JOANNA NEWSOM, DEVENDRA BANHART, ADEM, MAX RICHTER, ROBERT KIRBY (NICK DRAKE arranger) and ADAM PIERCE (MICE PARADE).
Produced by Max Richter, it's a rich and stirring album, with Vashti's voice and guitar augmented by string quartet, oboe, harp, French horn, recorder and flute.
In an interview, DEVENDRA BANHART described 'Lookaftering' as "better than Diamond Day... That blows my mind ... it travels across an entire universe..."
Vashti is the subject of a feature length documentary currently being made by KIERAN EVANS ('Finisterre').
