It's a rare thing these days, but SPARKADIA are a melodically potent & optimistic pop group.
Painting sounds in ecstatic primary colours, Alex Burnett, drummer DAVE HALL and bass player NICK RABONE issue a rousing call out to everyone - an open celebration of the love, regret, doubt, and redemption that make up the guts of life.
Echoing the sweeping melodic scope and sonic range of seminal bands like The Police and Doves, Sparkadia produce a sound exciting enough to snare support slots with artists like DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE, BEN LEE, THE BRAVERY and TEGAN & SARA, as well as gain an illusive UK record deal from the burgeoning ARK RECORDINGS label.
First single 'Morning Light' has been on high rotation on TRIPLE J since early December. The follow-up recording to the EP is expected to be done with BEN HILLIER (DOVES, ELBOW), and should be taking place in the UK in early 2007.
Sparkadia's music is optimistic - providing positively anthemic pop music.
