‘Silver And Fire’ is the debut solo album from Martin Craft, expat Australian now living in London, signed to the UK’s 679 Recordings (The Streets, The Futureheads, The Earlies), and previously from local psychedelic indie rockers, Sidewinder.
The Longtime Listener version features gorgeous newly designed, alternate artwork to the UK edition, and also includes a 9 track bonus disc, which features non-LP tracks from the debut EP plus B-sides to all the UK singles from the album, along with a brand new, previously unreleased version of “Love Knows How To Fight”.
The album was recorded over six months with a good friend in his small basement studio, and in other rooms in the house, while flatmates were at work. The music flowed and a beautifully layered and richly woven album came together.
Each song is a gem; inventive, individual, impeccably crafted and with a modest, reflective & warm spirit. Craft’s honeysmooth voice & wry lyrics dance around sparkling melodies, wickedly picked guitars, dreamy female backing vocals and hypnotic drums.
