THE EARLIES

The Enemy Chorus
Longtime Listener
INDIE

The brand new album from the Trans-Atlantic psychedelic sonic explorers!

Amazing new album from the Earlies, whose unique widescreen pop music combines layered vocals with imaginary and more traditional instruments and subtle electronics.

Their lauded debut album 'These Were The Earlies', released in 2004 on Spunk! Records, induced critical raves: 10/10 "Scintillating" - NME, "Spine-tingling" - THE GUARDIAN, "The best debut album of 2004" - UNCUT.

'The Enemy Chorus' is even better - bigger, bolder, stronger, stranger, darker... it's a hypnotic voyage through a mysterious locale with unpredictable bursts of light and sound. Not as steeped in pop tradition as their debut, but no less beautiful.

Musically, they are united by a shared love of The Band, The Beach Boys, The Byrds and The Beatles, all who came through clearly on the debut. But listening habits change, and musical reference points this time around include krautrock legends Faust, prog-rock greats Gentle Giant, and the musique concrete of Jean-Claude Vannier.

It's a strange and beautiful trip, and the band's production skills have been greatly refined and the focus on layered atmospheres brings about a rich tapestry of sound.

Eye-popping artwork from noted artist, Michael England.

The Earlies have produced fellow Texan Micah P. Hinson, Leona Naess and King Creosote amongst others in their Names On Records guise. They have also remixed tracks for Hot Chip and Tunng.

Released on 679 Recordings in the UK, Gronland in Europe, Secretly Canadian in the US, and Longtime Listener in Australia and New Zealand.
