The long-awaited SIR album is finally among us after 4 years, a divorce, and subsequent band split. The end result is ‘The Brando Room’ - a concept album; a sleazy foray into the loveless world of over 28’s nightclubs, polyester shirts and waking up alone.
The album is a combination of cold disco and piano ballads, reminiscent of SERGE GAINSBOURG or later period LEONARD COHEN (ie post VARIOUS POSITIONS). Lyrically and visually (the album is accompanied by a 24 page colour photo essay) the album depicts a journey of love lost – the lead character is now without hope, without redemption and without a clue.
