TECHNO
AARDVARCK has been around in the scene since the mid 80s, he has seen and heard just about everything in the musical playing field.
His ‘Cult Copy’ project could be seen as his first project where he really is focusing on one genre of music, being techno – Detroit techno to be specific. This music was a big inspiration to him when this genre was on a creative high, early 90s.
Since a lot of techno / electronic albums can be a dull compilation of dance-floor music, it was decided to create a ‘soundtrack of the future’. To enhance this idea, video artist MICHAL BUTINK was asked to create a 25 minute video based on the music, which is included on the DVD.
IVAN SMAGGHE ”This is a great, great record you’ve got there! It has got a devastating power on the more clued-up crowds. Full props.” … TREVOR JACKSON “This record is totally out of this world!.... a monster, monster record.” … DJ ROLANDO “The best record I’ve been heard in a long time, EXCELAARDVARCK
