NINA NASTASIA & JIM WHITE – Nina’s STEVE ALBINI recorded follow up to the acclaimed ‘On Leaving’, much anticipated collaboration with DIRTY THREE’s Jim White (the first collaboration that has ever had his name on the record), fitting in nicely with the Dirty Three curated ATP.
‘You Follow Me’ is stripped back yet further to just a two-piece (drums, guitar, vocal), making this a fantastically focused record - a taut, raw document of two incredible musicians in deep dialogue, exploring the boundaries of song form to find a rare and striking complement.
‘You Follow Me’ is once again a vehicle for Nina’s rare gift of a voice, and her concise, hook laden songwriting, surrounding themes of love, longing and loss, childhood, dreams and human dramas. Augmented by peerless drummer Jim White (Dirty Three), it is nevertheless a very different record, and one that documents two musicians at the height of their powers, somewhere between a duel and a dance.
