Get ready for what will be one of the most talked about Australian records of 2007! Blue Mountains five piece BELLES WILL RING drop the best Australian debut of the year so far!
The buzz on Belles Will Ring is getting deafening! Their first two tracks, “Mad Love” and “Park Benches”, were immediately added to High Rotation on TRIPLE J, as well as ads on community radio across the country. Add to that some very impressive recent support slots with local and international acts: DAPPLED CITIES FLY, LOVE IS ALL, DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE, THE VEILS, FIONN REGAN and an upcoming support for YOUTH GROUP’s national tour. They will launch the album on a national tour in May.
Their sound is a true return to melody in an era seemingly dominated by noise and screaming. The phrase “jangle” hasn’t been this appropriate for a long time.
‘Mood Patterns’ recalls the golden era of UK indie pop, the sweet haze of bands like RIDE and early CHARLATANS, as much as it does the origins of chiming and melodic rock in bands like THE BYRDS and THE BEATLES.
It’s almost hard to believe that this album was produced by the band and lead vocalist LIAM JUDSON (assisted by percussionist IVAN LISYAK) at their own Three Shade Green studio in The Blue Mountains. It was then mixed by WAYNE CONNOLLY (YOU AM I, THE VINES, YOUTH GROUP) and mastered by the legendary DON BARTLEY.
DRUM MEDIA (live review, January 2007) “Want a new favourite band? Try Belles Will Ring. Moments of beautifully ebbing and flowing noise. Songs with both 1967 and 2007….this is a band with so much of the right stuff.”
