Mice Parade

INDIE
MICE PARADE’s 5th album for FATCAT and the most accessible album to date. Includes collaborations with former MUM member Kristin Valtysdottir, STEREOLAB’s LAETITIA SADIER and HIM’s Doug Scharin.
Mice Parade effortlessly merges folk-tinged electronica with the ‘Loveless’-era swoon of MY BLOODY VALENTINE, traverses the rhythmic subtlety of CAN, and the opaque melodic experiments of BRIAN ENO, and the cut and paste of FOURTET, the bright post-pop esoterica of STEREOLAB. This album is the third in a trilogy of sorts, with more traditional song-based arrangements to the fore, yet with the instrumental flourishes that Mice Parade have become renowned for. Mice Parade is an anagram of ADAM PIERCE, the multi-instrumentalist behind the music - Adam writes, plays, sings and directs everything; there are no samples, with the vast majority of parts recorded in one take.
Simultaneously introspective and inviting, ‘Mice Parade’ is in turns ambient, percussive, acoustic and electronic; it’s a sonically rich, musically diverse record, that utilises songs, instrumentals and interludes to create a whole pervasive entity. The band includes two drum kits, both nylon & electric guitars, vibraphones, keyboards & whatever or whomever else is available.
