Quique - Redux Edition
Too Pure
ELECTRONIC
Seefeel have been defunct for over a decade now but affection for the band has not dwindled. ‘Quique’ was hailed as a techno record that, also like Aphex Twin and The Orb at the time, it was fine for indie kids to like.
The band would go on to record for Warp and Aphex Twin’s own Rephlex label. Making their name by continuing the guitar-effects exploration of My Bloody Valentine but setting it against a framework of electronic beats and loops, Seefeel forced their way to the front of a scene where the worlds of British indie / rock and experimental techno were connected. “The listener never just listened to Seefeel, rather became enveloped and consumed by their music. They made the most uncompromising, beautiful noise and I miss them.” Robin Guthrie, Cocteau Twins .
