RESISTE is the new Latin spin-off label of RESIST MUSIC, the UK’s leading independent dance/compilation label and the brainchild of London’s leading Latin music DJ/Promoter Jose Luis. It aims to showcase a plethora of contemporary Latin American artists as well as present a selection of well-crafted, beautifully packaged compilations. Following on from ‘Brasil’ (CARNAVALCD1) comes ‘Salsa Carnaval’.
Salsa is Latin America’s biggest musical export. From its Afro-Cuban roots to rest of the world, Salsa has become much more that a music genre; it encapsulates the identity of the Latin American Diaspora around the world and has become a universal language for lovers of dance, music and seekers of sensuality.
Unlike many salsa compilations, Salsa Carnaval has no fillers amongst it’s 15 tracks. From the legendary FANIA label we have CELIA CRUZ & TITO PUENTE – the king & queen of Salsa - get together for the memorable “Rumberos del Ayer. Check out the amazing covers of CHAKA KHAN’s “Aint Nobody” by UK based ALEX WILSON and JAMES BROWN’s “It’s A Man’s World” by RAY SANTIAGO. Even the Pink Panther theme is made ‘caliente’ here as “Pantera Mambo” by Colombian band ORQUESTA LA 33. This is guaranteed to warm up your winter!
