Promised Works
Touch And Go
INDIE
Conceived in the early 90s, The For Carnation was the “vanity project” of Brian McMahan, the voice of the omni-present indie yardstick, and very brilliant act, Slint (incidentally reformed and touring globally 2007/8!!)
Over the course of three releases, McMahan managed to garner contributions from David Pajo (Slint), Doug McCombs & John Herndon (Tortoise),Tim Ruth (Evergreen), and brother Michael McMahan (Dead Child), among others. With their help, The For Carnation became reality.
The results were and are curious, and quietly compelling.
‘Promised Works’ was originally released during the 1990’s by Matador Records as the 2 releases ‘Marshmallows’ and ‘Fight Songs’ . Album will be serviced to relevant press for review.
