On the back of the MEGAPHONE label’s re-issue of her 1969 album ‘It’s So Hard To Tell Who’s Going To Love You The Best’ (MOJO magazine’s reissue of the year) in 2006, they are very excited to announce the release of a double album of previously unheard KAREN DALTON live recordings from 1962.
Recorded at The Attic in Boulder, Colorado (a college town that was hotbed of folk music at the time, recognized by key names on both sides of the US who often dropped by when travelling) by JOE LOOP in October 1962 and featuring Dalton solo on vocals, 12-string guitar and banjo.
Dalton has not only been a massive influence by BOB DYLAN, FRED NEIL & TIM HARDIN but also by artists of today such as DEVENDRA BANHART & NICK CAVE.
Expect reviews in key music press and major newspapers, such is Dalton’s reputation.
PRESS ALREADY RUNNING O/S: UNCUT (lead review, July) “××××…a portal that links prehistoric blues with the freakiest acoustic music being made today. It’s also the most beautiful and harrowing album you’ll hear this year.”…OBSERVER (lead review) “××××…Dalton is shaping up to be the NICK DRAKE of the noughties. How come the best alt-country album of 2007 was made before Dylan went electric?”
