Things have been gathering pace with the duo making a major splash as support act of choice for THE SHINS. This experience cemented a close relationship between the two bands - singer/guitarist Anita supplied guest vocals to two tracks (“Phantom Limb” and “Turn On Me”) on the most recent Shins album ‘Wincing The Night Away’.
So what is it that’s attracted the leading lights of US alternative rock to this hard rocking, lo-fi band? “Viva Voce take the dream aesthetic of shoe gaze psych pop and beat the living shit out of it,” explains Shins frontman JAMES MERCER. And he’s not the only one who thinks so - DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE/POSTAL SERVICE man BEN GIBBARD recently praised their “perfectly skewed pop”.
