Beautiful Forest

INDIE
‘Beautiful Forest’ follows on from ‘Christmas Album’, THE TIGERS second album, released in 2002. ‘Beautiful Forest’ treads the same indie-rock-infused terrain as ‘Christmas Album’, and The Tigers still-lauded debut ‘Space Coyote’, trod, taking cues from laconic pop (SMOG, PAVEMENT) and sly rock (JIM O’ROURKE, Smog, and yes, Pavement), but always managing to sound absolutely unlike anyone but The Tigers.
Throughout ‘Beautiful Forest’, The Tigers’ front-man Chris Cobilis trips through a sort of playful set of lyricisms about desiring librarians, lifes little letdowns,
disappointments, break-ups and embarrassments, all-the-while the band provide ample musical earth for the lyrical seeds he sows. Recorded in Melbourne with CASEY RICE (TORTOISE, GROUND COMPONENTS) and Neil Thomason (RICAINE, MY DISCO), and released through SENSORY PROJECTS (MONO, PIVOT, PRETTY BOY CROSSOVER, HOOD), ‘Beautiful Forest’ is the labels 50th release in 6 years.
