JOHN BUSTINE, a New-Englander and no preacher’s son had a misspent youth consisting mainly of looking for a way out. Once found he drifted from San Francisco, to Salt Lake City - from which he fled to Boston before turning to the comforts of Washington DC and began writing songs. Drawing on traditional folk and country for his musical backdrop, he turned his life experiences into fairytales written for malevolent youth. He turned to the power of the scripture not for salvation, but for the darkness and the absurdist melodrama it offered.
The resulting songs are often deceptively simple, with an entire life being summed up in two or three verses. Featuring guests from JAY FARRAR’s band, REVIVAL, KEROSENE 454, DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL and more!
