RESIST’s ‘At The Controls’ series aims to delve deep into the musical psyches of the worlds greatest contemporary DJs.
Following on from head bending mixes from JAMES HOLDEN (Mixmag album of the month), M.A.N.D.Y. (Resident Advisor’s compilation of 2006) & CLAUDE VON STROKE (M8 album of the month) comes France’s no.1 techno producer / DJ, AGORIA.
Agoria’s mix harks back to the esoteric approach adopted by James holden, mixing up a diverse selection weird and wonderful music.
CD1 encompasses the best in minimal house, techno and beyond. Look out for SWAYZAK ‘ Smile & Receive’ (APPARAT Remix), PLAID ‘Ol’ and BEN WESTBEECH ‘Hang Around’ (WAHOO Main Mix).
CD2 is an eclectic showcase of Agoria’s musical interests with music as diverse as BAUHAUS ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’, MURCOF ‘Cosmos 1’ and JAMIE WOON ‘Wayfaring Stranger’ (BURIAL Remix).
Influenced by Jazz and Detroit Techno, Sebastien Devaud , aka Agoria, is part the ever fertile French electronic scene. He recently launched his own label, Infiné and his debut artist album (2003’s ‘Blossom’) was universally praised as a techno masterpiece. He has played alongside JEFF MILLS, DJ HELL, KEVIN SAUNDERSON, CARL COX, COLIN DALE, JOEY BELTRAM, RITCHIE HAWTIN & CHRISTIAN VOGEL and he is quickly becoming a name just as important.
