Blood On Satans Claw
Trunk
SOUNDTRACK
As eagerly awaited as ‘The Wicker Man’ soundtrack which TRUNK first released back in ’97 to great acclaim, this is the first time this beguiling film music from 1971 has ever been released.
Directed by Piers Haggard in 1971, ‘Blood On Satan’s Claw’ this Hammer-esque film has slowly gathered a cult following for many reasons, it’s beautifully shot and art directed (it’s difficult to find a better representation of 18th century rural Britain), it stars The Devil, evil naked maidens, and of course the quite extraordinary music accompanying all the horror.
Written by Marc Wilkinson, former director of music for the British National Theatre, this spooky cult score features the Ondes Martenot (the earliest electronic instrument) & Cimbalom (a spy theme staple) and in 38 years the music has lost none of its depth or addictive, evil hooks. Sleevenotes also include a superb overview of the score by MICHAEL TYACK from CIRCULUS.
