Finally DJ HELL’s ‘(H)Ellboy’, his eclectic 80s Italo Disco mix, after having circulated as a promo for over quite a while has finally had all the tracks (and logos) cleared to use.
Italo-Disco was the missing link between disco, electro and house / techno (it was a MASSIVE influence on the first wave of Detroit producers) plus it was one of the sexiest styles of music ever created!
Basically, if there was no Italo there would be no club music as we know it today. And with much of club music of the last eight years having an electro edge these tracks haven’t dated one bit. This is the best Italo-disco mix CD ever released!
It features great disco classics that have long only existed as bootleg 12”s like CHARLIE with the Italo anthem “Spacer Woman” and a mind-blowing remix of DONNA SUMMER’s “I Feel Love” from PATRICK COWLEY (and we all know how important that track is). Every artist that made Italy the place to be for lovers in the beginning of the 80s are gathered here, GIORGIO MORODER, GINO SOCCIO, CERRONE (the Hot Gossip Dancers / Kenny Everett Show fave “Supernature”), KLEIN & MBO, ALEXANDER ROBOTNICK and much more.
