‘The Edge of Heaven’, a German-Turkish cross-cultural tale of loss, mourning and forgiveness, won the prize for best screenplay at the 60th Annual 2007 Cannes Film Festival and will be the German contributions for the Oscar’s in early ’08!!
The film will be shown nationally in limited release at discerning cinemas and arts festivals such as the Perth Festival early in the new year.
The music for this drama is like a soundtrack to a road movie. Accompanying our protagonists the music oscillates between traditional tracks from Istanbul and the Black Sea and European club and dub sounds.
Acclaimed Bucovina mastermind SHANTEL followed these traces to compose a haunting, atmospheric score in which he fuses the different influences in his unique style.
