Revered around the world as one of electro's most sought after acts, Miss Kittin returns with her second studio album 'Batbox', soon to be released on her own label Nobody's Bizzness through Inertia.
Miss Kittin first came to prominence in the early electroclash music scene of the late 90s. In particular, her collaborations with Felix Da Housecat and The Hacker saw her blaze a trail of glory in underground dance music. She has toured extensively throughout the world and is considered a main attraction for club promoters We Love Sundays (Ibiza), and Bugged Out! (London), as well a being a regular at the annual Sonar electronic music festival (Barcelona).
'BatBox' is two years in the making, and almost four years since the highly regarded 'I.Com'. 'BatBox' comprises thirteen original songs, all composed whilst touring extensively throughout the world. A true individual with the substance to support the uncompromising attitude she is recognised for, BatBox is bursting with signature style Kittin observations on modern life.
"BatBox is a redemption," explains Kittin on the two year incubation period in which the album was recorded. "Let the bats in my head fly out. I was saying goodbye to old ghosts, allowing light to reduce the shadows and fight the dark. It was like opening a window on new perceptions - not with my eyes but through intuition, just like bats and cats do."
'BatBox' is enhanced with a second artistic collaboration involving the originator of the Emily the Strange cartoon, Rob Reger (www.cosmicdebris.com). This has resulted in a luxurious 12 - page foldout booklet for the BatBox CD and album. Reger's bats, cats and other assorted creatures of the night add further dimensions to the engaging cult of Miss Kittin.
