Over the past year Glasgow’s legendary Sub Club venue has been celebrating its 20th anniversary, an impressive feat for a venue that revels in promoting the most revolutionary underground talent. As part of the celebrations the club has been throwing some epic parties, inviting along international idols such as Karl Bartos (ex-Kraftwerk), Sugarhill Gang, Blurt and Louie Vega not to mention Roy Ayers and Kerri Chandler. Soma step up to close the festivities releasing this double mix CD from the club’s longest-running residents, Subculture’s Harri & Domenic and Optimo’s JD Twitch & JG.
Disc 1 comes from the skilled hands of Subculture’s masters of house. Harri & Domenic take you on a global journey through the ages of house music. The result is a mix that sounds like 70 minutes of the best song you’ve ever heard.
Compiling Disc 2 is Optimo’s JD Twitch and JG Wilkes. Recently celebrating their tenth birthday the night has over the years played host to the big names of tomorrow. Twitch and Wilkes’ keen ears have brought LCD Soundsystem, Franz Ferdinand and Hot Chip all to the club long before they became household names.
