In 1974 MICHAEL NESMITH of the MONKEES fame broke entirely new ground by issuing this “book with a soundtrack”. The idea is simply to read the book whilst listening to the record, both elements complementing the other. Michael has revised the text of the story and for this release has also completely remixed and remastered the album from the original multi-track tapes. As a listening experience it is now quite different from the original 1974 album release.
The book will be packaged alongside the CD in a slipcase. Nesmith is the subject of an article in the April edition of UNCUT in the series about the pioneers of country rock. He will also have his own feature in the “Word of Mouth” section in the May edition of THE WORD, and in the May edition of RECORD COLLECTOR there will be a feature about these DEMON EDSEL re-issues written by famed journalist TERRY STA UNTON.
