Straight outta Kent, Matthew, Paul, Dimitri & Jack began making their soft-centered dream pop back in early 2006. Switching between joyous pop-punk delight and delicate melancholia in a heartbeat, It Hugs Back melt layers of fuzzy vocals and guitars into their reassuring blend of endearing ‘shoegaze’ and heart-on-sleeves vulnerability.
After 4 singles on the Too Pure label, the band are releasing a CD compilation catchily titled ‘The Record Room : First Four Singles’, which compiles all the band’s independently released singles on CD for the first time. It also features both sides of the band’s debut 7” single for Too Pure, “Other Cars Go”.
The band have been quickly lauded by the like of the NME, as well as the UK’s leading alternative radio station XFM.
