Computerincarnations Ii
Sonar Kollektiv
DISCO
Following the success of ‘Computer Incarnations for World Peace’ (SK140CD) SONAR KOLLEKTIV and GERD JANSON team up once again. Whereas the first opus focussed on the early 80s, the second episode shows this time the recent evolution of Disco music, with 13 tracks from artists and producers, who injected some new blood in the veins of a genre that disappeared for a while. But like a phoenix, Disco was reborn from its ashes in the late 90s thanks to audacious DJs and a new breed of Disco music producers, who poured various influences like Funk, House, Boogie and Brazilian music into the mix.
‘Computer Incarnations For World Peace II’ (subtitled ‘Topical Disco & New Age Boogie’) is an eclectic collection of disco pearls that deserve a broader audience. The compilation also features a rare, treasured and a handful of unreleased tracks that you’ll never find anywhere else. This is definitely not cheesy disco, mind. This is smart, classy and fresh take on a timeless genre.
Tracks and mixes are from the likes of Norwegian disco / Nu-Balaeric heroes TODD TERJE & PRINS THOMAS (ESKIMO); CRAZY PENIS; NYC pioneers DANIEL WANG & BRENNAN GREEN; CHATEAU FLIGHT (VERSATILE), EWAN PEARSON collaborator AL USHER; SAN SERAC (OUTPUT), MUDD (RONG) and great version of “Walking In The Rain” (made famous by GRACE JONES) by FRONTERA. Four track vinyl EP available.
