Sweet Talk Your Enemies
Good Cop Bad Cop
INDIE
The Brothers Grimm of indie-rock, SCHVENDES ‘Sweet Talk Your Enemies’ tell tales of murderers, lovers and disquiet in the suburbs with tenderness, honesty and brutal glee. Known for their intense live shows, they craft sounds with guitars, cello, rhodes and drums that is nothing short of epic, while weaving in and out of this sweet din is the voice of lead vocalist Rachel Dease, a voice which has been described as akin to “Peggy Lee on crack”!
The band are a huge live fave with a considerable following in their native Perth, having been nominated for an astounding 20 WAMi awards in the past four years. Schvendes toured the US and Canada in 2007 where they played NYC in support of Love Of Diagrams and Canada where they accepted an invitation to perform at Canadian Music Week.
Bands supported over the years include John Cale, Augie March, The Dirty
Three, The Drones, Tim Rogers and Tex Perkins with WASO, Holy Throsby
and Youth Group.
