Sheffield’s cinematic dubby downtempo duo unleash their debut album, following the critical success of their live re-score tours and festival appearances.
‘Earplay’ features two tracks sung by Sanchita Faruque, who has worked with Nitin Sawhney , The James Taylor Quartet, Guy Barker and Badmarsh & Shri.
‘Earplay’ is Animat’s debut album following the critical success of EPs ‘Heart Shaped Balloons’, ‘Artic’ and ‘Sunshine Or Rain’.
Animat have a reputation for their ‘live’ re-score tours - so far they have reinterpreted Sylvian Chomet’s award winning animated film ‘Belleville Rendez-vous’ and David Lynch’s classic film ‘The Straight Story’, and they will present their reinterpretation of Veit Heller’s dark comedy ‘Tuvalu’ at this year’s Big Chill Festival in the UK.
