LENIE DE ICE’s 1991 classic “We Are IE” is often cited as one of the first jungle records, and possibly the first to use the Amen break. It’s come around again with some new remixes. RUSKO & CASPA for a low down and dubby excursion that’s slow and steppy. HIJACK’s quickly getting a name for himself on the ‘fidget’ scene. Here he kicks 4/4 butt with chopped up samples, neat edits and bags of energy. Finally, DRUMS OF DEATH keeps it 4/4 and makes good use of the original pads before going off on swirling tangents.
