Outcaste Records was founded in 1995 by Shabs and Paul Franklyn on the strength of the club night of the same name. The aim was to promote and endorse British-Asian underground music. Eight years on, names like Nitin Sawhney and Badmarsh & Shri have proved the success of such a project. Through club nights, artist albums and compilations alike the Outcaste name has spread over the years.
