A Brief History Of Love

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Robbie Furze and Milo Cordell are THE BIG PINK, and A Brief History Of Love is their brilliant debut on 4AD. Milo is behind the celebrated Merok label, which has helped launch both the KLAXONS and CRYSTAL CASTLES. Furze made a name for himself in such industrial behemoths as PANIC DHH and ALEC EMPIRE.
‘A Brief History Of Love’ was recorded in Electric Lady Studios with Rich Costey (MUSE, NEW ORDER, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE), with the exception of the single ‘Velvet’, which was mixed by Alan Moulder (MY BLOODY VALENTINE, NINE INCH NAILS, YEAH YEAH YEAHS).
Those struggling to describe The Big Pink’s sound have referenced magical dream collaborations between PHIL SPECTOR, MY BLOODY VALENTINE, THE VERVE and the JESUS & MARY CHAIN. The duo have created a sound that marries anthemic pop sensibility with fiery digital experimentalism, and the debut cements their position as one of the finest and most important bands to emerge in years.
The beautiful album artwork is as otherworldly as the music, and was especially created by long-term 4AD friends and collaborators, v23 (PIXIES, COCTEAU TWINS, THIS MORTAL COIL).
